"China has removed the quotas on foreign investors' purchases of domestic stocks and bonds through the QFII and RQFII in September, however, quotas were not used in full in the recent past and other reforms, such as the removal of a 10 percent limit for foreign overshore of A shares, which would be more meaningful to foreign investors," said Cantor.

"China has many world-class investment opportunities. In many cases we don't need to look abroad for shares with high-growth potential because we can reach them domestically," said Iris Pang, China director and economist of ING, a Netherlands-based global financial institution.

"But we forgive our allies more than we forgive China. We forgive our new friend India more than we forgive China. That may not be fair," he said.

"China and India have the ability to resolve their border disputes bilaterally. We don't accept countries outside the region pointing fingers, let alone meddling or making instigation, which will only endanger the regional peace and stability."
